With the way Verizon handled the Galaxy Nexus, what are chances they will carry the new Nexus
I recall last year around this time anxiously awaiting the announcement of the next Nexus device. When Google and Samsung announced the Galaxy Nexus I was overjoyed. One thing however really annoyed me: There was no release date announced for the U.S. Time passed and Matias Duarte even went On The Verge and stated that it would be out before Black Friday which didn't happen. While it was not confirmed, it was pretty much known that the Version that would release first in the U.S. was the LTE version and that it would be carried by Verizon.
Finally it was reported that stores were receiving shipment of Verizon branded Galaxy Nexus phones and that there would be two pieces of Verizon software pre-loaded (Backup Assistant and Access Manager). People were becoming more and more annoyed and impatient that their beloved Nexus series was getting bloatware and no release date in sight. Then Verizon finally announced a release date of December 15 2011, about two months after the device was announced. It seemed as though Verizon did not care about the Nexus and was instead focusing more on the HTC Rezound and Motorola Droid Razr, both devices that Verizon had full control over the software. Fast forward to the release of Jelly Bean. It took Verizon about 2-3 months to even get the update out to the phone compared to the unlocked version.
Anyway my question/concern is this: Do you think that Verizon will carry whatever Nexus Device(s) is/are announced on the 29th, and if so will Google allow them to handle it as poorly as they did the Galaxy Nexus? I currently am in the middle of a Verizon Contract I started Last year with the Nexus and would like to get either the LG nexus, HTC nexus (if true), or the Galaxy note 2. (I managed to get unlimited data BTW so I would like to keep it).
