A New Design for the Q Interface (With Pictures)

The Q interface is scattered across many apps and even the Q app itself is confusing.

So I came up with a new design that does everything in a more intuitive way and allows 3rd party channels to easily be added.

The back button opens up a sidebar with all the channels.

The line with Living Room on it is a menu that designates which Q is being controlled at the time.

Search will search for videos and movies in every channel you have but prioritize results from the channel you're in. "+" is an option to add a channel. Overflow has the usual extra menus and settings.

The controls on the now playing item should be fairly obvious.

On the queue, play moves the item to the top of the queue and starts playing, pausing the original playing item and moving it down one.

A 2 finger or 1 finger swipe down on individual elements expands seasons, playlists, or albums to show all items. Each of those items can be expanded to reveal more specific information.

The triangle opens options like remove and reorder.

Swiping to remove also works.

Here's the sidebar thing.

Each item in a channel should have an add to queue, play now and the triangle button.

This allows maximum flexibility and simplicity in operation.

So what do you think?
