AT&T to get HTC One X+ and budget One VX in 'coming months'
AT&T has announced plans this morning to pick up the One X+ that HTC just announced internationally earlier this morning along with another lower-end model, the One VX, that is unique to AT&T.
The One X+ will be available only in a non-expandable 64GB model and only in black, launching with Android 4.1 and a 1.7GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 processor — a spec-for-spec upgrade over the well-received One X that launched earlier this year. The One VX, meanwhile, might be the more interesting announcement even though it's the more midrange of the two, simply because it's a new design: the 4.5-inch qHD display is paired to a dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor with 8GB of expandable storage and a 5-megapixel camera (strangely, it will launch with Android 4.0, not 4.1).
Notably, AT&T will continue to carry the One X at a lower price point than the X+, giving HTC three handsets on the carrier spanning the full range of price points. Specific pricing and availability for the new models isn't being announced today but the One X+ will be available globally early this month — and it stands to reason that AT&T would like them on shelves in time for the holiday season.
