iPad Mini vs. Nexus 7, which one should I get? Which one would you get/are you getting?
Some background information:
I won an iPad 3 over the summer, but I never ended up really using it. As a (humanities) student, I couldn't make it fit in my work schedule. Alternating between 10+ tabs in the browser, Evernote, various PDF documents, the crappy community/learning/whatever it is software the school is using (Sakai), and writing a 15 page paper, tablets are simply inefficient.
I also tried using as a reading device. I wanted to use it laying down on the couch or in bed, but it was simply too big and uncomfortable.
So I figured I'd just sell it, purchase the smaller Nexus 7, and pocket the difference. But then the iPad Mini rumours started ramping up, and I ended up waiting.
Now I'm wondering, is the extra $130 worth it?
All I want to use my tablet for is: Google Reader, Twitter, Instapaper, and news apps (such as CNN, The Globe and Mail).
One one hand, I think the Nexus 7 can easily do all of that. On the other hand, I love Reeder, Longform, and the photojournalism apps available on the iPad (such as LIFE and The Guardian).
Is the extra $130 justifiable? What do you think? Which would you get?
