So I go to upgrade to Windows 8...
At first I thought I would wait about a week before upgrading to Windows 8, just because I thought it might be a good idea. However, this morning I woke up and said "screw it!"
So I went to the Microsoft Store online, clicked the download for $39.99 and then downloaded the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant. After it checked compatibility for devices and applications I then proceeded to enter my billing information... One of the fields was to enter your state of residence. The United States (or my state) wasn't even there! I thought I might have downloaded the wrong executable for some other country, somehow, so I redid it.
Still nothing.
So I called Microsoft Support (I was surprised I got a real person in about 2 minutes) and told them my issue. Apparently they are having "technical difficulties" with Windows 8 in the United States and he said he would be "monitoring the situation" and said it would be best to try again later.
Has anybody else in the United States experienced this issue? I don't quite understand how the US can be the only place having technical difficulties.
Oh well, maybe next time.
