Blue Screen after upgrading to Windows 8 Pro
I upgraded to Windows 8 Pro. I was loving the new UI until I found out my messaging app has a mind of its own. It would work fine then it would stop working, and then it would say "We can't send a message right now". I know, I know, try unistalling it, reinstalling it, disconnecting accounts, reconnecting accounts, refresh it and so on and so forth. I've tried all. It didn't work.
Then I downloaded Skype for Metro. What an app. Until the live tile stopped updating itself. Well no problem I thought, I just restarted the computer. But then I couldn't sign into Skype. The app would launch and then close. Desktop app stopped working too. So I restarted it again. I thought the computer was working fine until I saw it: The Blue Screen of death.
The error code it gave me was system_thread_exception_not_handled (iaStor.sys)
I've seen the blue screen of death 3 times now and the systems are all the same. I've given up on making the messaging app work. My Skype app sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. But I know every time its not working I can expect a blue screen in the next 10 seconds.
I'm running a third generation Core i5, 8 GB RAM, 32 GB SSD with 500 GB HDD system. What am I doing wrong? I haven't seen a blue screen of death in the past 6 years, and as soon as I upgrade to Windows 8 Pro which was supposed to be the death of the blue screen of death, there it is plastered all over my computer screen.
Any help would be tremendously appreciated.
