Comments kills scrolling. Is it just me?

I've come to notice that as soon as comments are loaded, scrolling becomes absolutely atrocious.

I testing it on a Retina 15' and a 13' i7 2012 Air on Safari.

Are you finding something similar? Is there a way to have comments not load until you get to the bottom on the post?
