Windows 8 DOES have a start menu (sort of)
I dont know how many people know of this (in every review/complaints ive seen nobody mentioned this), but you can right click on the start screen hot corner (bottom left side of screen) and you will get a bunch of options that were available via the old school start menu.
Thinks like the run command, control panel, event viewer, device manager, search, explorer etc...
Still not as great as the old start menu but its pretty nice and saves a lot of space on my task bar.
