The MTA has posted a gallery of photos to Flickr taken with a wide range of devices, like the iPhone 4, Galaxy S III, and Nikon D4 that show a practically abandoned New York City in the wake of the oncoming storm. Grand Central Station and Penn Station lie empty, while constantly busy destinations, such as the Times Square subway station, are also deserted thanks to the cancellation of the train system on Sunday evening. There are still some signs of life though, as the MTA continues to make preparations in the background to defend against the elements. Make sure to peruse the gallery below and visit the source for a glimpse of New York that few have ever seen.
