Switchable ATI graphics and the Windows 8 nightmare
If anyone has switchable graphics, be warned that Windows 8 with switchable graphics will cause you a massive headache.
I've tried four different drivers, three different methods of installing them and countless hours in the device manager and Google.
After I finally got Windows 8 to accept the drivers for both cards, I was stuck on the underwhelming performer of the two. Now finally, I can use CCC to configure graphics settings and my Windows Experience score is accurate, and full screen video works.
But now I'm unable to switch adapters, which is less than pleasing.
ATI/HP need to resolve this issue asap. It wasn't fun to read an AMD mod on their forums telling people they shouldn't upgrade a laptop that hasn't shipped with the OS they want to install.
