Google has confirmed with The Verge that the unlocked Samsung Galaxy Nexus has been removed from the Google Play Store to focus on the brand new LG Nexus 4. Those looking for the most pure Android experience you can get on an LTE-enabled device, however, can still purchase the Galaxy Nexus from Verizon Wireless and Sprint. Since the Nexus 4 is launching as an unlocked HSPA+ device, it will not be available for either US CDMA carrier for the foreseeable future. If you absolutely need LTE on your Nexus, you may want to act quickly in case Verizon and Sprint decide to pull the device as well.
