In the wake of announcements for the LG Nexus 4, Samsung Nexus 10, and Android 4.2, Google has also updated its Google Search app for Android 4.1 Jelly Bean users. The update includes many of the features that were revealed in Google's Android 4.2 announcement today, such as Google Now integration with Gmail and improved cards for flights, restaurants, hotels, events, and packages. New cards for landmarks and popular photo spots, movies, and concerts have also been added, in addition to several new voice actions like launching apps and scheduling or verifying meetings. While all of the features are welcome improvements, the major highlight is probably the much-needed integration between Google now and Gmail. Not only is Google striving to integrate important features from the new version of Android into the earlier 4.1 version, the new features will all converge to help Google reach its ultimate goal — bringing you information before you even ask.
