AT&T has just announced that it will soon be carrying the LG Optimus G smartphone. The Optimus G is the first smartphone with Qualcomm's 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, and it also includes 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a 4.7-inch, 1280 x 768 pixel IPS display, an 8-megapixel camera, and a 2,100 mAh battery. It runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with LG's custom Optimus UI user interface and a set of LG apps like QuickMemo for taking notes. As expected, the Optimus G will take full advantage of AT&T's 4G LTE network.
LG originally debuted the Optimus G in Japan earlier this year, and it said that it would be coming to the US in November. AT&T is the first carrier to announce that it will offer the G, and though the carrier has not yet provided an exact release date or price for the phone yet, we don't think it will be too long before the G is on AT&T's shelves.
Update: LG has just confirmed that the Optimus G will be headed to Sprint with a 13-megapixel camera instead of the 8-megapixel model, but it did not give a price or exact release date for Sprint's version either.
