criticism and controversy about the rating system and a plea for communication

there has been a lot criticism and controversy about the rating system lately.

so i was hoping that the verge would be willing to open up a dialogue with its users (which i am frankly surprised that they have not done so already).

so maybe you guys could expand the "The Breakdown" or explain why you don't think that this is a good idea.

for example split up ecosystem into: apps / devices / cross platform integration, or add new categories like hardware features(nfc/...) or software features(siri voice app) .

for me it would also be nice if in addition to the standard verge score if there would also be a price vs product score.

so, to the verge i say: talk to your users, explain your point!
