Android 4.2 is the reason Samsung wants to move away from Android

Maybe I shouldn't say 'move away' but be less dependent on Android.

Now, if the rumors of 4.2 are true there is a pretty good reason for all the Samsung acquisitions and developments.

Google is getting more serious about skinning and update delays. To combat that, Google makes manufacturers skin their devices separately from the OS and put "theme" overlays on the customization center.

In order to bring manufacturers to switch to this system they will offer "Nexus Certified" games and other streaming media to these certified devices. Something that will bring in more customers. This would force manufacturers to adapt if they don't want users to switch.

Samsung is acquiring digital content providers to offer their own solution to this "carrot on a stick" tactic as well as developing their own OS with Tizen. I see many Samsung employees/devs with Tizen stickers on their Series 9 ultrabooks which makes me think that Samsung is taking this effort very seriously.

All his makes sense to me, especially since Samsung is doing great financially compared other Android manufacturers they maybe think they can grow on their own.

I'd love to hear what you think.
