So you can pay to promote your personal status updates on Facebook...
Saw this in the news last week and thought it was frankly bizarre. Would anyone here even consider paying to promote personal events / status updates to the top of your friends' news feeds? Or do you think this will be reserved for the kind of people who want to draw attention to a commercial / charitable venture like their band's latest gig or a local event of some kind?
It's fun to imagine a scenario where Facebook develops a hierarchy of high visibility users who've paid for the opportunity to be more prominent on the site, but there's also something icky about introducing a marketing model to a personal, supposedly social space...
