How usefull is the stylus, really?

I found myself cought in the stream of thinking that digitizer and stylus support is awesome. But is it really? Other than drawing and note taking (no thank you) i don't really know what other uses are there for it from the point of view of a regular consumer? Obviously graphic designers and such will appreciate it, but what about regular joe? Thoughts? Reason why i want to know this is that currently acer w700 looks mighty tempting at those prices. Plus it's 11.6". Surface pro is just too small (it's 19.x", right?), and transformer book will probably be out of my budget if i do decide to go hybrid way.
