8X Navigation

So I found a buyer for my Verizon GS3 today, meaning I can now buy an 8X on Wednesday (stuck on Verizon, att is terrible where I am). However, contrary to the news a few months ago, there isn't any inbuilt navigation? I was just wondering if this meant voice turn-by-turn, or it it meant there is not even text turn-by-turn (a la pre IOS6 google maps). Does anyone know how I can get android style turn by turn on my phone? If not ill have to get a 822.
