Mac Mini 2012 Display Blinking Out

Has anyone purchased the new Mac Mini 2012?

I've owned it for a week now (base i7 2.3Ghz) and I've used it for roughly 80 hours. 4 times since owning it the screen has blinked black for about 1-2 seconds.

This is being discussed here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/20276186#20276186

and here: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1478837

amongst other places I'm sure.

If you have experienced the issue please notify Apple and sound off here to.

ArsTechnica's review on the subject mentioned it this way:

Display troubles

While writing this review, I received a bunch of e-mails from folks asking about display issues. There's at least one growing thread on the Apple Support Communities site and two threads on MacRumors filling up with people reporting that their new 2012 minis are displaying black or snow screens several times an hour.

I have not seen this myself. I've been using the mini (which is not an Apple-provided unit, but rather one that Ars purchased) several hours a day for five days now, using a DVI monitor connected to the mini via the included HDMI-to-DVI dongle, and I've seen neither hide nor hair of any display flickering. I'm interested in hearing from anyone who has, though—give a shout out in the comments below. Sadly, Apple has a history of being extremely reluctant to acknowledge display-related issues with products (witness the pandemic of yellow-tinted 27" iMacs in late 2009, or the infamous GeForce 8600M-equipped MacBook Pros), so it's not likely that Apple will officially confirm or deny the presence or absence of any problem. If there is truly something wrong and it's fixable by software, expect it to be addressed by a near-silent patching as part of a future OS update.
