TheVerge is slow loading, css doesn't load at all

The Verge is extremely slow on my end, on all browsers, and more often than not, the main css file does not load at all. Here is a typical screen I get these days.
If I manage to load an internal page most of the time (but not always) the css loads and the site is back to normal. Reloading (or Ctrl+F5) the front page does not reload the css.
This is consistent on all major browsers (FF, Chrome, IE, Opera)
