Android 4.2 new lockscreen: A mess or a bless?
The update that brings Android 4.2 new lockscreen is finally out. I was glad when I first heard that Google is doing something so popular among Android users - lockscreen widgets. But after seeing how it actually works, I've become skeptical.
Droid Life's video shows how it works in detail:
Just as the editor in the video says, it's quite confusing. And I think there are just too much stuff going on by default. The new unlock circle isn't necessarily better, with camera and Google Now shortcut removed (could be a measure to avoid Apple's slide-to-unlock patents).
The only thing that I'm excited about this new lockscreen is the fact that app developers can add their apps' widgets to the lockscreen. I hope by then, it would be a genuinely better lockscreen.
