Rep's Response to Backorder Email's
I, along with many others, received the email saying my Nexus 4 was backordered. I was confused by this because my Google Wallet still says its pending, and my Play Store account still has an expected shipping date of today so I decided to call the number at the bottom of my order confirmation email.
The representative I spoke with told me that everyone who ordered a Nexus 4 received the email about the backorder status. He also said that only those who ordered 2+ devices could be waiting longer then expected.
If your Wallet still says pending and your account still has an estimated shipping date, I wouldn't get all pissed off yet. Hell, this may even play out in our favor by getting free shipping and still getting the device in a reasonable amount of time.
