My theory as to why the Nexus 4 is sold out
Alright guys, bear with me, but here's my running theory. Just look at all the facts and it will make sense, I promise:
- The Nexus 4 is a high-end piece of hardware (Snapdragon S4 Pro, 2gb RAM, 1280x768 IPS display, etc). It's sold unlocked and ready for operation on practically any GSM network worldwide. It runs stock Android and gets updates directly from Google with no carrier intervention.
- Google is one of the largest tech companies in the world and their introduction of the Nexus 4 (and other devices) was no secret and fairly widely publicized.
- The device is sold for a killer price, roughly half of other contract-free devices.
- Google started offering the device in exchange for money.
