Is this service special ?

I want to ask you guys something.
I live in Switzerland and here we have a service called Zattoo.
Its a online tv streaming service.
I can use this on my iPad / iPhone /Android and any browser on any computer and stream it all to my apple tv.
There are about 114 channels that you get for free ( with ads while you switch channels ) or you pay 6$ a month and there are no ads.
The great thing about it is, if i choose to pay the 6$, I can also rewatch any programm on any channel 3months back.
So i wanted to ask if this is special or is there anything like this in the USA or elsewhere?
Thats the way I watch tv.
