Optimus G is the reason why the Nexus 4 is going to stay out of stock
Qualcomm has had trouble getting good yields on its S4 Pro chips and the Optimus G is going to get priority for those chips since they are higher margin. Google also has a history of not being able to get products out the door (see Google Q). My prediction right now is that the Nexus 4 is not going to be available in any meaningful quantity until after Februrary.
My advice is you just get RAZR MAXX for the LTE and battery life or an Atrix HD if you want a good value phone. The Note 2 is also a great choice.
