To the Verge Staff: How about quantifying "the lack of apps" for WP8?
Dear Verge, So the ecosystem score for Windows Phone 8 has been set at a 5. WP8 has 150,000 apps compared to 700,000 and 750,000 for Android and iOS. When you look at the raw figures, it says WP8 has a long way to go to catch up. To counter that conclusion, WP8 supporters say that, at this point, most of the popular apps (or 3rd party alternatives) are there or even baked into WP8. But how about doing an analysis of what popular apps are in WP8, which ones are missing and which ones have 3rd party alternatives? I think this would help clarify why you are rating the ecosystem a 5 or maybe, just maybe, it might justify bumping that number up a bit.
