Nokia Isn't Going to Come Back
Soon after Elop becoming CEO of Nokia, one of the things he promised was to move times between when products get launched and when they thy hit stores. Which was one things Nokia was severely lacking. It was refreshing to see Elop has identified one of Nokia's biggest problem and was ready to face it head on , and so he did with the Lumia 800 launch . Within two weeks of Nokia World the devices were at the places they promised they will be and ads started rolling in. Sales weren't great but it marked off a good start.
Fast forward to a year later , and Nokia Lumia 920/820 gets launched. But unlike the Lumia 800 there were no released dates, no prices, no availability nothing. In between that time the iPhone 5 comes out, followed by HTC 8X and then Nexus 4. The initial assumption is more details about the Lumia 920 will emerge once Windows Phone 8 gets launched . Wp8 gets launched .and yet there is still no availability , no dates , no prices.. nothing.
The thing is technology gets stale over time , Once the initial buzz hits off and you fail to take advantage you don't get it back again.. Every devices has its flaws and in the case of the Lumia 920 the bulkiness and thickness which usually wouldn't be a problem but the more people talk about it the more they begin tearing individual aspects of the devices apart. In that space of time people begin to loose interest and consider other option .
Its sad to see Nokia ends up like this, they have some really great minds there but it looks like they are suffering from leadership problem. Things aren't getting better and it doesn't seem that that trend will change anytime soon and I blame it square on the leadership of Elop.
HTC starts rolling 8X ads .. think there is some kind of trouble at Nokia the rest of us might not be aware of.
Something seems off.
