Can I get some recommendations for Netbooks or 10" laptops?

I'm trying to decide between a tablet or small laptop (netbook I assume?).

I want to spend $300 at most and was going to look at Black Friday deals.

I mainly want to use the internet (emails, watch streams [twitchtv, justintv]) and for my Japanese studies.

My Japanese studies will include watching streams, and browsing the web (Japanese websites) some times watching anime/drama. I can't really think of any more usage in regards to Japanese studies.

Now I'm assuming that the laptop would be a lot faster when browsing the web?

I would like to do some research of some of the better netbooks at around $300, so I'm looking for suggestions.
