Top bar for breaking news
Sometimes it's hard to know when The Verge is doing something right at the second you check it. And the top bar seems perfect for that, but it isn't updated that often, and when it is and there's something happening like On The Verge, it isn't really noticable that it's any different to another featured story up there.
Have you guys ever tried doing something like this:
