Bryce Bayer Passes Away
Just thought I'd share this as I didn't see it up on the main photo hub yet. Bryce Bayer, designer of the original "Bayer array" used in most digital cameras, has passed away. The tech was patented all the way back in 1976, yet very few sensors have ventured away from that original design. Pretty amazing feat. Equally amazing is that he worked for Kodak at the time, who is now failing due at least in part to their reluctance to invest in digital imaging early on. You can read more about the man here: http://www.imaging-resource.com/news/2012/11/20/bryce-bayer-who-created-bayer-filter-for-digital-cameras-has-died
