Pretty impressed with the new Chromebook.
I went in to Best Buy today and played with the new Samsung Chromebook. While I do not feel it is worth 250 dollars, the performance was pretty damned good. I went to The Verge, probably the most taxing site and it scrolled nice and smoothly through the comments section, something that my HP 311 ION based netbook struggles with.
ChromeOS could be a really great contender if they integrate a touch screen and have a Dalvik VM baked in to the OS as a tablet hybrid. Definitely more potential than the Surface tablet if Google makes it a convertible(ala Transformer Prime).
My only problem with the Transformer Prime was that it only ran full screen applications when in many use cases a windowing environment would be optimal.
What are your thoughts?
