What is Productivity?

I am the managing editor at No Brainer App Reviews. Recently, I wrote an editorial called, Redefining Productivity. I believe that the word, productivity, has lost all meaning due to its use as a weapon against the iPad in particular. In a rush to redefine productivity so that the iPad is not productive, the word has been twisted into a variety of unnatural forms. Microsoft and RIM are the biggest offenders, defining productivity in arbitrary ways to make the iPad less, and their products more so.

Microsoft and its fan-base seems to believe that productivity is narrowly defined as something running something called Windows, with keyboard attached, and Office on the screen. Naturally, I reject this notion, and am curious to see what this group has to say about the topic. If I see something interesting in the comments, I will update my editorial to reflect it.
