My Prediction
so i have been using windows 8 for a while now, both on a surface and my sony vaio s laptop, and personally i think windows 8 just doesnt work on a laptop but it is a breeze to use on my surface. with that being said, i think microsoft may have used windows 8 to gain traction for apps and such so that they can truly compete in the tablet space. i think they for windows 9 they will revert to a more 'desktop' like mode (although i still think there will be some major diffferences from the current one, like a desktop store, full metro ect..) and they will also have a tablet version of windows, much like what windows 8 looks like now
