Smartphones poised for PC replacement duty [video]

Someone tested the power of a quad core Android phone like the Note 2 to see how well it would replace a PC. This is all very impressive, and I can imagine next year's quad core A15 phones will work that much better. It's certainly presenting a case for having not just dual core, but quad core chips in your phones, something even I thought wasn't very necessary until now.

But being able to dock phones like these, or installing Linux on your tablets, certainly makes the case for ever more powerful quad core ARM chips, and it's showing that we're not at the "end" of how much performance we need in our phones, but merely at the beginning.
