Will.i.am and former JooJoo CEO launching insanely expensive iPhone camera cases in London this December

For those with an iPhone, zero taste, and entirely too much money on their hands, Will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas has you covered with his new line of i.am+ foto.sosho camera cases for the iPhone 4 and 4S. These insane accessories sprang from the mind of Intel's Director of Creative Innovation, with the former CEO of Fusion Garage Chandra Rathakrishnan now serving as the CEO behind Will.i.am's new venture. Rathakrishnan's time at Fusion Garage was tumultuous, to say the least, but with Will.i.am behind the wheel, how can the i.am+ foto.sosho be anything but a success?
As for the accessories themselves, all three cases add an incredible amount of bulk to the iPhone, with styling vaguely reminiscent of a real-life camera. The standard £199 model offers three different lenses (standard, wide-angle, and fish-eye), a flash module, and comes in black and white models. The £299 model adds a slide-out, bluetooth QWERTY keyboard and ups the bling factor with white and gold or black and silver models. Both models will be available exclusively from Selfridges in London starting on December 6th, with an iPhone 5-compatible models planned "coming soon."
As Engadget reports, those iPhone 5-compatible cases will offer a lot more than the options launching in December — Rathakrishnan said that the foto.sosho V.5 and L.5 will circumvent the iPhone 5's camera system and instead use a 14-megapixel sensor and built-in zoom lens to provide superior image quality. Given the likely cost for such a system, it seems like it would make a lot more sense to just buy a standalone camera that will almost certainly offer superior image quality, but we're glad to see that the former brains behind the highly-touted but ultimately disappointing JooJoo as well as last year's fairly wretched Grid10 tablet still has a knack for wild technological proclamations.
