The next Apple announcement
I was listening to Gruber's most recent Talk Show podcast with MG Siegler and they brought up an interesting point. With Apple moving its iPad 4 to this quarter, the iPad mini release, the iPhone 5, and the refresh of all their Mac desktop/laptop products, Apple really has nothing to announce for the forseeable future.
There is a gap in products from now, November, until at least June 2013 at WWDC.
The only thing I could think off is that Apple will have the beta of the next OS X release out to developers/journalists, but that isn't consumer facing and could be NDA'd.
Is it possible that Apple could go into radio silence on products for almost 8 months?
Could Apple take these 8 months where there isn't a focus on iOS to really refresh iOS?
