I think this is way off the mark. First of all, Nokia's value will be much higher than a 50% premium on the market cap because of their patent portfolio. Most likely $25-30 billion. nVidia is probably $10 billion.
Microsoft has $66 billion in cash and equivalents, but that's spread out between American & foreign accounts. They could only buy Nokia from the foreign cash and that might be all of it. nVidia might be the more obvious one.
But I don't think either one will happen. Microsoft might make a deeper partnership with nVidia, no need to spend $10 billion, especially when the EU is about to fine Microsoft $7 billion for the browser ballot screwup.
