Building Windows 8/RT Modern UI Apps is a Joy!
I am just putting the finishing touches to my first Modern UI app for submission to the Windows Store. Nothing too ground breaking but just wanted to pass on my impression of the process. Coding against the new framework is so easy and implementing the new guidelines such as semantic zoom, snap view etc is very well thought out. I have not done much coding for a few years and only took me a few days to get up to speed. I already have a few more ideas for apps ready for when I finish this one in the next few days. Anyone who has some interest in developing, get Visual Studio Express for free and away you go. If you want to submit the app to the store it will cost you around £30 for a 12 month developer license.
