How HTC could become an android power house again
when I was looking to get my first smartphone 2 years HTC was the big player in android, and I have loved my HTC desire while I've had it it is now feeling its age and feels really dated and slow. Now that I am looking for a new phone HTC really has dropped down and is well behind Samsung in the android market. This got me thinking what could HTC do that could really get them back in the game. What I think that they should do is two things. One they should start selling there phones with stock on them. This would mean that they would not only have a better product but would mean that they would need to spend less on software engineers. Second (and this is going to be controversial) but now that they have a deal with apple they should use lighting port or possibly even the apple 30 pin rather than micro usb. This might sound like insanity but it would give HTC devices a massive competitive advantage over Samsung in that HTC phones will be compatible with all apple accessories. This is one of the areas that android is massively behind apple in and one that I think would tempt people from Samsung and maybe even from apple. Most house holds have some sort of apple accessories or in the car. It would be a better differentiator than sense.
