Best place to buy Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon i7 before Christmas?

Thanks to the very helpful posters here. I decided to go with the ThinkPad X1 Carbon for my mother, with the i7 processor.

I am accustomed to buying computers from the manufacturer, but unfortunately, it appears that they will not ship the computer until after Christmas. This is not ideal.

Can anyone point me to a trustworthy site to purchase the laptop sooner? J&R has it at the same price, but it it is Windows 7 (I'm not opposed, it just seems a bit silly to pay the same price for a Windows 7 machine) and it is Open Box (which I am far more hesitant about).

I also found it at Directron for several hundred more, but it has upgraded the memory from 4gb to 8gb, so at least I am getting something for the added cost. But I am completely unfamiliar with that website, which makes me wary.

Any ideas? Leads? Secret tips on how to get an earlier ship date from Lenovo? I am not completely opposed to paying a bit more, so long as I am confident I am getting the same machine from a reliable source.
