Is the Nexus 4 real or just a marketing gimmick?
I just sold my iphone 4s for 450$, it was a fine phone but I got bored of it. I wanted to get a Nexus 4, but it's "sold out". I've read on various sites that the Nexus 4 sold out in about 30 minutes around the world, on launch day.
Basically what they say is that Google and LG do not really want to sell many Nexus 4 because they are not making any money from it. What I read also is that the whole point of the Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 is to get the media and the tech blogs talking about it and talking about Android, but they don't want to actually sell the devices. Objective was completed, if this is true. Google does not want to sell a phone with high end specs at such a low price, to not piss off the Android OEM partners.
I haven't seen anything on that subject so far on the Verge, and I am interested if you have any insight on this.
