Twitter is finally rolling out a way for users to access their old tweets. The social network had previously promised the feature would be available by the end of the year, and some users are reporting that a new 'Your Twitter Archive' option is now available at the end of the on-site settings menu.

As first reported by The Next Web, users requesting their old tweets will be sent a link to a zip file containing an archive that can be viewed with a standard browser. The archive contains every tweet you've ever made organized by date and can also search through their old tweets. It's not clear how long it will take for the feature to be switched on worldwide, but we've reached out to Twitter for more information on the rollout.

Update: Verge reader Ben Kessler sent us a few screenshots of the process, which we've included above, and another user, Rivanov, has just posted a link to his tweet archive in comments. If you're interested in seeing what the interface looks like, you can check out Rivanov's archive here.

Update 2: In an email statement provided to The Verge, a Twitter spokesperson says that "we are currently testing the ability to download your tweets with a very small percentage of users." The company declined to comment beyond that, so as of now there's no timeframe for when the feature will roll out to everyone — but if CEO Dick Costolo keeps his promise, it will be available by the end of the year.
