Apple sold two million of its iPhone 5 devices during the product’s launch in China this past weekend, and it managed to do so without the fracas that has accompanied its past product releases in that country. According to The Wall Street Journal, Apple instituted a new reservation program for product launches in China that has alleviated a lot of the mayhem. In order to buy newly-released products, customers need to apply online a day early. If a device is available, the buyer is then given a window of time to pick it up. Despite lingering concerns about labor practices in China, Apple’s products remain top sellers there as elsewhere. According to CEO Tim Cook, this is Apple’s "best first weekend sales ever in China."
