No Windows Phone 8/Windows 8 App = Lose My Business
Does anyone share my opinion on apps for both Windows 8 and Windows Phone?
Basically it reads like this:
If you are a business in the money making business and your app is free on any marketplace but yet you don't develop for other platforms then you just lost my business, simple as that.
Examples:
Wells Fargo - Switched to USAA because they have an app for every platform.
Instagram - Stopped using it because I shouldn't be choosing my platform of choice based on whether you have an app for it or not. If people can make apps for instagram that allows everything but uploading photos then there is no reason why you cannot.
Google Anything - If you can't develop your free apps for Other platforms (Windows 8/Phone 8) and there are some independent developers that can then I don't need your service.
Any game that is free and involves online play with friends. - Again if you can't develop but yet WORDFEUD is available everywhere then goodbye.
Many other ones but those are some at the top of my head.
NOTE: If you charge money for you app it makes sense that you don't want to lose money bny dedicating tons of time for little return, this applies to apps that don't make their money from app sales.
If these companies can develop there is no excuse why you cant.
Chase
Bank Of America
Netflix
Amazon Kindle
Skype
Wordfeud
Pageonce
Microsoft (most part)
USAA
Spotify (mostly)
Flixster
IMDB
Fandango
The List goes on and on.
I WILL NOT CHOOSE MY PHONE OR TABLET BASED ON WHETHER YOU HAVE YOUR SHIT TOGETHER AND DEVELOPING APPS OR NOT!!
UPDATE: Some people are attacking me, claiming that Im a fanboy of epic proportions, well let me ask you this:
Let's say you have a bank and they don't even have a mobile site or an app, but there's another bank equally as convenient that does, would you switch? I bet you would consider it, Well Fargo didn't even have an Android app when I switched and it's the most popular platform.
Take Instagram, It came out right after I switched to Android, was I supposed to switch back to iOS because they didn't develop for the most popular platform?
THE MAIN POINT IS THAT IF THEIR DIRECT COMPETITORS OR SOME DUDE IN A BASEMENT CAN MAKE AN APP THEY HAVE NO EXCUSE AND I WILL LOOK ELSEWHERE.
