'Metro-izing' part 1: Youtube
So the new youtube design came and went. I usually love the youtube redesigns, I know you've heard it all before, website re-designs rarely go without complaints. The previous one, though, introduced a theater mode player, with the dark tones surrounding the video, and had the info about the video you're watching prominently displayed below, it was nice, bold, and best of all, clean. This latest design, rather, has no real theme going for it, true google design along with android and google +. Texts not relating to one specific theme are right scrunched together, and the video player just seems to float in a strange, negative space. Also, the comments can only be viewed by scrolling away from the video you're watching. This is why I went ahead and applied 'most' of Microsoft's design philosophy, while still trying to keep it all looking distinctly google (light shadows, icons instead of text indicators). So, here it is, how'd I do?
