Why Are People Constantly "Reinventing" iOS?

So if you've been actively following this forum, you might have seen plenty of those posts that are trying to change the way iOS handles tasks or looks (mainly looks). I'm not saying that it's a bad thing, I enjoy looking at all of those posts. They bring truly innovative and intuitive features to iOS. I just want to know why people think iOS needs to be changed SO BADLY? I saw a render by Sentry about the camera grabber on the lockscreen, and while a cool idea, I don't think it's needed (not putting you down, Sentry, your mockups are great!).

Besides this growing idea that iOS is stale, boring, the same, and this and that, I can't think of many other things to change. Here's my list in order of importance:

  1. App sharing; that is, if I want to open Google Chrome as my default browser when opening a link from Apple's mail client, then I should be able to.
  2. Spotlight update. I would like this to kind of be like Alfred for OSX. If I want to search YouTube, let me do so through spotlight. Or if I want to create a calendar event let me just type "meeting on Sunday at 3:00" like Fantastical directly in spotlight.
  3. Siri integration with third party apps. I would LOVE to be able to tell Siri to play music through Spotify or to read me the headline news in Flipboard or Newsify. I use Siri a lot when driving so this would be great!

Many might be wondering, "where's the part that you talk about widgets?" and, well, I don't care for widgets. They create clutter and don't work well yet. What's the point of having a news widget if you need to click on the widget to actually read the news? Or with email as well? I can understand the weather, but with NC we have that just a swipe away.
I'd like to know what you guys really believe needs to be changed or added to iOS, because I don't think there's much wrong with it. Do I believe that it looks the same as it did in the beginning? Of course, but what's wrong with that? OSX practically looks identical to what it was about 20 years ago, but I love it. I don't believe that Apple needs to change the look of iOS, but rather what people can do with it. What do you guys think?
