How good is the iPod touch 5th-gen's camera?

It's that time of the year again!

Christmas is nigh and I can't help but look at the iPod touch 5th-gen as one of the best gifts. I have a 4th-gen and it's not like it is banged up, and I have a strict policy of skipping a generation always, but I've had mine for about a year and a half now, and then I (finally!) had a look at one in person and was blown away!

But one of the biggest things for me in the iPod touch is the camera, which is far, far, far less than anything near stellar in mine. Also, the other new features in the iPod have been well tested in other devices too, but the camera is some sort of weird hybrid of that found on the iPhone 5 and 4S, and, again to my great agony and irritation at the underwhelming attention given towards the iPod touch, not many good photos taken by the everyday user are available

So, my question to you is: how good is the camera? Is it comparable to that on the 4S, or I daresay, the 5? I know that the megapixel count puts it closer to the 4, but I generally disregard that number against quality (Except in the insane, monstrous PureView 808!! Man, is that a beast!!).

I'd really appreciate it if you could post a few pictures in the comments section, and please do post unedited versions of those too if you can. Also, if you own the iPod touch as well as an iPhone 4/ 4S/ 5, comparative photos will also be great! Thanks!
