According to Reuters, an Italian court has acquitted three Google executives in the case involving a video of an autistic boy being bullied that was uploaded to Google Video in 2006. The court's ruling overturns a 2010 conviction that had sentenced the executives to six-month prison terms. Google maintained throughout the case that the executives charged — senior vice president and chief legal counsel David Drummond, Google Italy board member George De Los Reyes, and global privacy counsel Peter Fleischer — had no involvement in the video, which was posted by four students and remained on the video site for three months before it was brought to the company's attention and removed. The executives' original sentences had been suspended awaiting the outcome of the appeals case, so none of them had to face any actual jail time.
