Iconic music magazine 'Spin' discontinues print edition
Popular music magazine Spin has discontinued its print edition in order to focus on digital content. After Spin Media was purchased by Buzzmedia earlier this year, speculation swirled that the magazine would transition to being online only, and today Spin confirmed that the September / October issue would be its last, following a run of over 25 years. Instead, Spin will focus on distributing content via its website and iPad app. Spin is following in the footsteps of other publications such as Newsweek, who are also shuttering their print operations in lieu of online content. In its letter to subscribers, Spin said it's working with alternative publishers to fulfill the remainder of customers' subscriptions, and is also offering the option of a full refund.
