Weekly Critique Thread: Christmas Holiday Edition! - Closed

In lieu of our weekly critique thread, we're going a more festive route this week and will be back to our normally scheduled programming next week.

The rules still apply (listed below), but let's try and keep everything Holiday Themed this week. Whether it's a photo of someone else's holiday celebration/party/tradition (like the photo I posted) or your own holiday celebration/party/tradition, we want to see it here this week!

For the weekly critique threads, there are 3 simple rules we hope you'll follow:

1) Before posting a photo, please take the time to comment on a couple of photos in the thread, giving constructive criticism or explaining what you like about the photo. You do not have to go in depth about what you like and dislike. You can just simply state what you liked about the photo. We really want involvement from posters, not 'one-and-done-ers.'

2) We would prefer you post 1 photo, then wait 3 days before posting a second photo. Also, please do not post multiple photos in one post (or post multiple photos in a row). Allow others to join in as well. Post photos as a reply to the OP and post critiques as replies to photos. This should keep things nice and clean.

3) No need to explain your shot. Please, if you want to explain your photo, do so. There's usually a story behind the photo. Also, please list the settings you used, if available. These settings are:

  • Focal Length (If you post a 35mm equivalent, please make special note of it in your post)
  • Aperture
  • Shutter Speed
  • ISO
  • Camera Model

Do not worry if you're not experienced in photography, the aim of this thread is to learn from each other.

Have fun, and try to play nice!
